Job Description
AI Engineer I developing AI-driven automation tools for personalized medicine research with Sanguine Biosciences. Focused on LLMs and enhancing operational efficiencies in collaborating teams.
Responsibilities:
- AI Agent Development: Build, test, and deploy AI agents and LLM-powered automation workflows.
- Work hands-on with Python to analyze data, experiment with new natural language model architectures, perform prompt engineering on LLMs, benchmark and monitor model accuracy, deploy models into production for real-time inferencing to support various use cases.
- Develop and maintain prompt engineering strategies for AI-powered pipelines, optimizing for reliability, accuracy, and performance.
- Integrate AI outputs with Salesforce and other enterprise systems by structuring and routing model responses into the correct records, objects, and workflows.
- Build PDF and document extraction pipelines using LLM models to parse clinical and operational documents and feed structured data downstream.
- Support the monitoring and error handling of AI-powered workflows, troubleshooting failures and improving pipeline resilience.
- Track and report on AI agent performance metrics and operational ROI, supporting data-driven decision-making for future investments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
- Demonstrated experience building with LLMs and AI APIs (e.g., Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Gemini) through coursework, personal projects, internships, or open-source work.
- Proficiency in Python, including working with REST APIs, JSON data structures, and automation scripting.
- Familiarity with workflow automation tools such as N8N, Zapier, Make, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of prompt engineering principles and practical experience constructing prompts for complex, multi-step tasks.
- Exposure to Salesforce (administration, APIs, or development) is a plus but not required.
- Ability to write clean, readable, and well-documented code suitable for production environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity - comfortable researching unfamiliar tools and working through ambiguity independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
