  • Define and implement system logic for approvals, state transitions, document flows and policy lifecycle automation.
  • Review architecture, code and implementation quality to ensure correctness, scalability and reliability.
  • Mentor engineers and raise overall engineering standards, system thinking and delivery quality.
  • Work closely with product, operations, QA and DevOps to deliver complete, production-ready systems.
  • Improve system stability through monitoring, debugging, root cause analysis and production issue resolution.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including product and operations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Calm under pressure when handling production incidents or tight delivery timelines.
  • High ownership mindset with strong follow-through from design to production.
  • Bonus Points: Experience building workflow automation systems, SaaS platforms or enterprise backend systems.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures or state machine-based systems.
  • Experience with AI/ML-enabled workflow or decision automation systems.
  • Knowledge of Node.js, Python, Java or similar backend technologies.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and production monitoring systems.
  • Familiarity with observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing).
  • Experience scaling systems in fast-growing or high-transaction environments.
  • Contributions to system architecture decisions in previous roles.

Benefits:

  • Build Core Automation Systems – Own AI-driven workflow infrastructure powering insurance operations.
  • High-Impact Engineering – Solve complex real-world system and workflow problems at scale.
  • Global Engineering Team – Work with experienced engineers across multiple countries.
  • Fully Remote – Work remotely from China while collaborating with our Malaysia-based teams.
  • International Exposure – Build systems used across Southeast Asia markets.
  • Learning & Development Budget – Support for continuous technical growth and development.
  • High Ownership Environment – Significant autonomy over architecture and delivery decisions.
  • Modern Engineering Culture – Focus on quality, iteration and operational excellence.
  • Competitive Compensation – Attractive salary package based on experience and leadership impact.
