Job Description
Appian Consultant developing Appian solutions for Horizon Industries, an IT and management consulting firm. Supporting federal Foreign Military Sales programs through agile software development.
Responsibilities:
- Understand user requirements and design and develop basic Appian solutions
- Deliver complex development assignments efficiently and comprehensively
- Increase quality, speed, and overall productivity in Appian development work
- Support Foreign Military Sales (FMS) in a remote full-time position
- Present work to product owners and other stakeholders
- Follow project methodologies, processes, protocols, and SDLC deployment cycles
- Work independently and within a small team
- Follow directions from supervisors or client staff and complete assignments
Requirements:
- 1 to 2 years in software development, preferably with some Appian exposure
- Understanding of internal project methodologies, mostly agile events, to deliver working code
- Ability to work independently and within a small team setting
- Ability to present to product owners and other stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as software engineering, engineering, or computer science
- US Citizenship is required
- CompTIA Security+ certification required by the first day of employment; candidates may obtain it after the interview process but must complete it before the start date
- Good communication
- Competency in Microsoft Office suite
- General knowledge of the assigned support area, customer domain, solution set, or internal HQ functions
- Appian Level 1 certification preferred or expected within the first month
- Agile Certification
- Basic SQL DDL and DML, including create, update, delete, and select/query operations
- Familiarity with Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL as needed on the project
- Ability to map database changes to Appian CDT via XSD
- Ability to follow supervisor or client directions and complete assignments diligently
- Familiarity with project team processes and protocols
- Understanding of HIL development processes and SDLC, including the deployment cycle, and ability to adapt processes
