Job Description
Senior transportation consultant leading parcel operations, customer implementations, analytics, and logistics improvements for Cardinal Health’s nuclear pharmaceutical network.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee relationships with parcel providers, including FedEx
- Provide real-time shipment monitoring and intervention impacting patient care
- Manage account administration, including account creation/setup, invoice alignment, shipment access, and shipping profile creation
- Partner with Sales, Operations, Customer Success, and external transportation providers
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews covering metrics, projects, and opportunity areas with action plans
- Develop pricing models for current and potential customers
- Serve as project manager for transportation initiatives, including cost savings and service improvement projects
- Develop and maintain project plans, monitor milestones, identify risks, and drive issue resolution
- Coordinate activities across multiple locations and communicate with leadership and stakeholders
- Lead project status meetings and provide executive-ready updates
- Serve as primary operational contact for Nuclear accounts
- Resolve parcel-related issues with customers and internal teams
- Coordinate operational planning for holidays, weather events, and network disruptions
- Identify operational opportunities and process improvements
- Develop, analyze, and communicate parcel performance metrics
- Participate in weekly business review meetings with FedEx and Nuclear stakeholders
- Monitor performance, identify trends, and recommend process improvements
- Generate recurring and ad hoc reports
- Translate operational data into actionable insights improving customer experience and on-time performance
- Build partnerships across Nuclear, Customer Success, Transportation Engineering, Data Analytics, Sales, and external transportation partners
- Lead recurring operational meetings and facilitate internal/customer communication
- Prepare presentations, status updates, and leadership communications
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and customer satisfaction
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- 8+ years of experience, preferred
- Experience in transportation, supply chain, logistics, operations, customer success, or project management preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing complex cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational data and identify trends
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools
- Experience supporting customer implementations or onboarding programs, preferred
- Experience within healthcare, pharmaceutical, transportation, or logistics operations preferred
- Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), routing, and network operations
- Experience developing executive presentations, operational reporting, and process documentation, preferred
- Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, or other project management certifications are a plus
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to influence without direct authority
- Customer-focused mindset with strong relationship-building skills
- Strategic thinker who can balance tactical execution with long-term operational improvement
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and leading multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and sound business judgment
- Travel within the United States up to 20%
