Job Description
Application Sales Manager selling life-science and diagnostics tools in Japan. Providing wet-lab and instrumentation support while growing distributor and customer accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct sales activities to meet and exceed regional revenue targets
- Provide quarterly revenue forecasts with good accuracy
- Drive all stages of funnel management: prospecting, opportunity generation, technology selection, negotiation, and closing
- Provide first-line pre-sales and post-sales application support for wet lab and instrumentation to end users
- Build relationships with distributors and customers, understand their goals and projects, and provide advice and support
- Drive consumable growth in key accounts and devise strategies for increasing utilization in low-utilization accounts
- Arrange and conduct seminars and training to promote technologies to new and current users and distributors
- Develop SWOT and territory analyses and execute sales strategies to grow the business
- Make recommendations to senior management to improve the business
- Travel 60% of the time
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Life Sciences discipline; PhD is a big plus
- Minimum of 3 years each of Sales and Applications (wet lab and instrumentation) experience in Life Sciences or Diagnostics markets
- Good knowledge of one or more of: proteomics, transcriptomics, high-parameter spectral flow cytometry, genomics, mass spec, or spatial biology
- Success in growing business via distributors
- Demonstrated effectiveness in selling technology solution workflows
- Data driven decision making, with ability to translate plans into actions
- Effective territory strategy and time management
- Ability to interface at all levels within an organization, internally and externally
- Confident to work in a sales team and in matrix environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills
- Willing to travel up to 60% of time to key customers, conferences and meetings
- Fluent Japanese and business level English
