Job Description

Associate Director enabling data-driven transformation in life sciences industry. Partnering to scale Enterprise Information Architecture capability and executing data architecture initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Enterprise Information Architecture Capability
  • Partner with the Senior Director to scale the Enterprise Information Architecture framework, standards, and best practices.
  • Assist in defining and maintaining enterprise data domains, subdomains, and canonical data models.
  • Ensure alignment of R&D data initiatives with enterprise architecture and governance standards.
  • Drive Execution of Strategic Data Initiatives
  • Provide architectural leadership and execution support for key programs.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable and reusable data products.
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to design end-to-end data solutions supporting analytics and operational use cases.
  • Guide teams in adopting common data models, semantic layers, and architecture patterns.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers within the enterprise data platform.
  • Support the creation and certification of trusted data products for enterprise consumption.
  • Create and review data models and enforce data modelling standards.
  • Lead enterprise Semantic Modelling standard and develop a framework for context engineering.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a bridge between strategic leadership and execution teams, ensuring alignment and effective delivery of initiatives.
  • Engage with business leaders across Clinical Operations, Safety, Regulatory, and Biometrics to understand and address data needs.
  • Collaborate with the Integration Center of Excellence (CoE) and enterprise architecture teams to promote standardized integration patterns.
  • Innovation & Future-Ready Data Ecosystem
  • Support the adoption of AI/ML and Generative AI by enabling high-quality, well-governed, and AI-ready data assets.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the enterprise data ecosystem through knowledge graphs, semantic models, and advanced analytics.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data capabilities and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS Degree with 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data management, or analytics within the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale data and analytics initiatives.
  • Experience with Clinical Development and R&D data domains.
  • Strong understanding of modern data architectures, including data lakehouse, data mesh, and medallion patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
  • Familiarity with MDM/RDM platforms (e.g., Reltio) and data governance/catalog tools (e.g., Informatica, Collibra).
  • Knowledge of data quality frameworks, metadata management, and lineage.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling techniques.
  • Understanding of GxP and regulatory requirements in the life sciences industry.
