Job Description

Associate General Counsel providing legal guidance on privacy and security matters at eHealth. Leading legal initiatives and ensuring compliance with privacy laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the company’s chief privacy officer
  • Develop and maintain appropriate privacy, security, and other related policies
  • Advise the business on privacy and security matters, including HIPAA, GLBA, HITRUST, and state privacy regulations including CCPA
  • Provide legal advice to various groups within the company, particularly relating to laws and regulations applicable to operation of the company’s technology platform for selling health insurance
  • Draft and negotiate agreements with vendors, business partners, health insurance companies, technology licensors, and other third parties

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or prior in-house experience with a focus in privacy and healthcare matters and/or technology platforms
  • J.D. degree and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • Ability to identify risks and propose alternative structures to mitigate risks that meet business needs
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to learn quickly, identify and resolve legal and business issues, drive projects and earn the confidence of and cooperation of your business partners
