Job Description
Associate Scientist II conducting cancer risk factors and screening research at the American Cancer Society. Analyzing data, collaborating with experts, and publishing findings to impact cancer prevention.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret high-impact research articles and/or Facts & Figures
- Provide analytical and technical support to senior staff
- Collaborate with internal and external experts
- Publicize research findings at scientific conferences and media
- Ensure accuracy of data in scientific manuscripts
- Document analytic programs and results clearly
Requirements:
- Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Policy, Health Economics, Biostatistics, or Demography
- 5 to 8 years' experience in statistical, medical, or biologic research
- Experience in cancer screening, early detection, and risk factor surveillance
- Proficiency in SAS or related statistical software (R, Stata, SUDAAN, SEER*Stat)
- Familiarity with large databases (NHIS, BRFSS, SEER)
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail with numbers and calculations
