Job Description

Associate Software QA Engineer at Swimlane, focusing on high-quality security automation applications. Collaborating in an Agile environment to ensure robust software quality and performance testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate in an agile environment to assess project readiness, influence testability, and ensure robust test development, system reliability, performance, and quality.
  • Drive projects to completion by creating robust quality plans, managing risks, enhancing test coverage, and integrating tests with CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality and early defect detection.
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of automated test frameworks and scripts for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • Conduct performance and security testing to ensure applications meet scalability and security standards.
  • Advocate for end-users by ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed, and interact with customers to enhance understanding of their use-cases.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in software testing and QA, aiming to improve testing processes and enhance the engineering team’s overall efficiency and delivery effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Business and technical background in cybersecurity and security automation/orchestration.
  • Extensive experience with creating and executing software QA plans for complex, high-volume, event-based systems, especially those involving hundreds to thousands transactions per day.
  • Expertise in functional and non-functional testing types, including system, integration, scale, HA and reliability.
  • Proficient at least one programming language, such as Java
  • Familiarity with setting up and managing test environments on cloud-based platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Strong understanding of QA, CICD and DevOps methodologies and tools, especially related to AWS.
  • Experience with cloud-native monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus.
  • Proficiency with automation tools/frameworks such as TestNG, Junit, Cypress, Karate, Playwright, JMeter
  • Self-starter, self-managed individual who can work independently and quickly adjust to changing priorities.
