Job Description
Backend Engineer building scalable Python payment infrastructure for Brite, a European fintech. Developing cloud-native systems supporting real-time account-to-account payments across 27 European markets.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend software using Python and cloud-native technologies
- Build and work with distributed architectures and service-oriented systems
- Develop scalable, transaction-intensive payment systems
- Work with Brite’s fintech products, payment infrastructure, and product stack
- Optimize system performance at scale
- Contribute to solutions and the engineering work framework
- Collaborate with engineering teams and top industry talent
- Participate in the hiring process, including a team case or live-coding discussion
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development
- Deep expertise in Python
- Solid background in AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
- Strong understanding of distributed architectures and service-oriented systems
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with highly scalable, transaction-intensive systems
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Passion for optimizing performance at scale
- Security-conscious mindset
- Familiarity with encryption techniques and security best practices
- Tech stack experience with Python, FastAPI, Terraform, GCP Cloud Run, PubSub, Datastore, Cloud Scheduler, and BigQuery
- Meritorious: team leadership experience
- Meritorious: experience with Open Banking, PSD2, and financial integrations
