Job Description

Bilingual Danish PhD STEM expert writing prompts and evaluating scientific responses. Improving AI safety for Mercor’s frontier-model training projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Write expert-level prompts in Danish across specialized scientific topics
  • Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content
  • Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations
  • Help make advanced AI models safer
  • Work on projects focused on training and enhancing AI systems

Requirements:

  • PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field, ongoing or completed
  • Depth to write prompts across chemical, biological, or radiological and nuclear subject areas
  • Native or near-native fluency in Danish
  • Business-level written English
  • Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques in the relevant subfield
  • Sound judgment around scientific safety and responsible handling of dual-use information
  • Demonstrated depth in a specific scientific subfield
  • Radiological and nuclear coverage from a chemistry background is welcome, including radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics
  • Research or coursework touching on chemical safety and security, biosafety and biosecurity, or hazardous-materials handling is a plus
  • Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content is a plus
  • Must be eligible to work without H1-B or STEM OPT sponsorship
