Job Description

Bilingual Referral Coordinator coordinating referrals, insurance verification, and appointments for Pair Team’s underserved Medicaid and Medicare patients. Remote U.S. role requiring English-Spanish fluency and PST hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Process, track, and coordinate patient referrals to ensure timely scheduling of appointments
  • Schedule PCP, dental, vision, specialist, and transportation appointments for patients
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and confirm patient’s in-network PCP
  • Coordinate Release of Information (ROI) and Authorized Representative (AR) requests
  • Maintain accurate documentation of communications and referral activities in internal systems
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with care team members to support continuity of care and high-quality patient experiences
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements in referral workflows and scheduling efficiency
  • Serve as the scheduling backbone of Pair Team’s care coordination model
  • Work closely with Case Managers, providers, and health plans to ensure smooth transitions between services while maintaining clear communication and HIPAA compliance

Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
  • 1+ years of experience in healthcare operations, referral coordination, or appointment scheduling in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Previous experience as a Referral Coordinator, Scheduling Coordinator, or in a healthcare administrative role strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume scheduling and referral workflows while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills with experience navigating multiple systems, calendars, and priorities simultaneously
  • Comfort navigating insurance portals, verifying eligibility, and confirming provider/network information to support timely scheduling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with patients, providers, and care teams professionally and empathetically
  • Proficiency with technology such as Google Suite, Slack, and data tools (e.g., Looker or comparable platforms)
  • Reliable, HIPAA-compliant home workspace with stable internet connection
  • A commitment to improving healthcare access for underserved communities
  • Must be based in the United States
  • Must work PST hours
  • Participation in E-Verify to verify employment eligibility for new hires
  • Passing a pre-employment background check, including criminal history, reference checks, and driving records if a role requires vehicle use
