Job Description
Bookkeeper managing daily accounting, reconciliations, inventory, and COGS for an eCommerce health and personal care company. Preparing financial reports and analysis for leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records across AP, AR, payroll, inventory, amortizations, and other accounts
- Record and reconcile daily sales transactions across Amazon, Shopify, and TikTok
- Reconcile PayPal, Stripe, Amazon Payments, and TikTok payment processor accounts
- Manage accounts payable, including vendor payments, expense tracking, and documentation
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and audits
- Prepare monthly P&L statements and financial reports for management review
- Provide monthly financial analysis covering trends, variances, cost-saving opportunities, and business insights
- Manage inventory valuation and COGS recognition, including physical inventory counts and reconciliations
- Support month-end closing procedures
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Partner with leadership on financial reporting and data-driven business decisions
- Identify and flag irregular or unusual financial activity
- Assist with special projects, ad-hoc financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives
- Recommend accounting and financial process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles
- Prior eCommerce or online retail accounting experience required
- Solid understanding of inventory accounting, COGS, amortization, and cost recognition
- Experience handling multi-channel eCommerce transactions and reconciliations
- Proficiency in accounting software; QuickBooks experience preferred
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Ability to work with financial data and translate it into clear, actionable business insights
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and data integrity
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Experience with Amazon FBA accounting and multi-channel eCommerce operations preferred
- Experience working with inventory management systems preferred
- Knowledge of cost accounting methodologies preferred
- Track record of implementing process improvements within financial or accounting operations preferred
- Fiber internet, recommended speed of 100/50 Mbps
- Backup internet capable of at least 20 Mbps
- Quiet, conducive home workspace
