Job Description
Buyer sourcing dental supplies, equipment, and implants for Affordable Care’s affiliated dental practices. Managing orders, suppliers, costs, inventory, invoices, and service requests.
Responsibilities:
- Examine and pursue cost reduction opportunities through alternate products and suppliers
- Research and source new products requested by affiliated practices
- Process orders for dental and laboratory supplies and equipment, especially dental implants and related products
- Escalate implant-related inquiries to the Clinical Implants team
- Track and expedite existing orders
- Reconcile invoice discrepancies
- Review and approve orders based on demand, order volume, and purchase history
- Guide order quantities and inventory levels to control supply costs
- Facilitate product returns for vendor credit
- Back up the Equipment Service Coordinator by fielding service requests, relaying requirements to service providers, and coordinating technician arrival times
- Gather and report affiliate requests and inquiries to monitor trends, staffing needs, and customer satisfaction
- Support other procurement and supply chain functions as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or a business degree with a supply chain management concentration preferred
- Alternatively, an Associate degree in Dental Support Services (Hygienist, Dental Assistant, Laboratory Technician)
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Prior experience in the dental industry or a Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) highly desirable
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Diligent follow-up to ensure requests are handled promptly and orders are delivered on time
- Proactive problem-solving for delays, backorders, discontinued items, and similar issues
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and a broad supply base
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Effective facilitation and presentation skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- High initiative, organization, action orientation, analytical ability, and results focus
