Job Description
Certified Pharmacy Technician managing electronic medication refills, prior authorizations, and patient assistance for St. Elizabeth Physicians. Remote role requiring residence within one hour of Erlanger, Kentucky.
Responsibilities:
- Manage electronic medication refill requests supporting St. Elizabeth Physicians’ offices
- Process medication refills according to protocols
- Provide customer service to patients
- Communicate with providers and office staff
- Assist with medication prior authorizations
- Guide patients and health care teams regarding patient medication assistance
- Communicate via EMR or verbally with physicians, clinicians, pharmacists, and staff regarding patient medication concerns
- Ensure patient encounter information is complete, accurate, and compliant with workflow protocols
- Ensure completion of medication refills and prior authorization requests
- Ensure accurate and timely distribution of other patient requests
- Apply customer service principles to interact calmly and pleasantly with patients
- Comply with HIPAA regulations
- Complete other assigned duties in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner
Requirements:
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) through PTCB or NHA exam
- Kentucky Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration
- High School Diploma or GED
- PTCB or NHA certification
- 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy setting is required
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and ability to learn other computer skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work professionally with doctors, hospital administration, management, SEP employees and the public
- Knowledge of current practice management and electronic medical record systems (training provided)
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Customer service skills reflecting a patient-centered attitude
- Understanding of pharmacy calculations and medical terminology
- Ability to work successfully in a team-based decision-making culture
- Ability to work independently resulting in effective outcomes and on-time performance
- Experience in planning and coordinating multi-disciplinary communications strategies, strategic initiatives, and events
- Must respond and follow through with requests promptly
- Must work carefully and precisely with attention to detail
- Must utilize resources wisely
