Job Description
Chemical Engineer managing sales in Coatings, Construction and Adhesives sector across Benelux and Nordwestdeutschland. Focus on customer relationship building and technical sales discussions.
Responsibilities:
- Development and expansion of business in the Benelux countries (focus on the Netherlands), Scandinavia and northwest Germany by winning new customers and maintaining existing relationships.
- Conducting technical sales discussions (Tech Talks) to identify customer requirements, unmet needs and to position our CCA product portfolio.
- Translating customer requirements into qualified projects, technical application studies, sample requests and application-technical trials.
- Building and actively managing a CRM-supported sales pipeline, including stage-gate control, prioritization and consistent follow-up up to the decision.
- Increasing project-to-order conversion through disciplined opportunity management and targeted use of samples and technical services.
- Regular customer visits and virtual meetings, including preparation of visit reports, forecasting and continuous maintenance of up-to-date CRM data.
- Close cooperation with application technology, product management, supply chain and R&D, including feedback on market trends, competitor activities and customer needs.
Requirements:
- Successfully completed degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a comparable natural science or alternatively a recognized advanced training as a certified technician (m/f/d) in the field of paints and coatings.
- At least 3 years of experience in sales or closely related functions (marketing, product management) with a demonstrable track record of customer success.
- Experience in at least one of the following market segments: paints and coatings (architectural, decorative, industrial), construction chemicals, printing inks, adhesives or in the sale of specialty additives (defoamers, dispersing agents, thickeners, surface treatment additives, etc.) in the mentioned market segments; technical experience in one of these markets or product lines is not required but is considered an advantage.
- Practical experience in marketing technical products including customer training on correct application.
- Friendly and committed communication style, negotiation skills at various hierarchy levels.
- Business-fluent English; Dutch is an advantage.
- Structured, self-motivated way of working with strong team skills.
- Willingness to travel > 50%, including multi-day foreign trips and regular visits to our headquarters in Abstatt.
