Job Description
Clinical Coordinator building Stepful’s nursing clinical instructor team and site partnerships. Managing rotations, compliance, and clinical education operations for healthcare workforce programs.
Responsibilities:
- Carry a clinical and skills lab teaching load of approximately two days per week at clinical and/or simulation lab sites
- Model excellent clinical instruction
- Transition to backup clinical instructor coverage as the team grows
- Recruit, hire, and onboard clinical instructors
- Train and develop clinical instructors
- Serve as the first point of contact for clinical faculty questions, issues, and escalations
- Experiment with AI tools and documentation systems to improve instructor onboarding and support
- Build and maintain relationships with clinical site partners
- Secure new clinical partners as programs grow
- Liaise between clinical instructors and site staff
- Conduct site visits and match sites to program objectives
- Stay current with clinical site policies and procedures
- Handle onboarding logistics for instructors at each site
- Manage clinical site assignments and rotation scheduling across cohorts
- Maintain a master schedule of student placements, faculty assignments, and unit locations
- Confirm coverage for every scheduled clinical day and secure substitutes when needed
- Arrange computer access, badging, and student orientation at clinical agencies
- Maintain agency availability records and adjust schedules
- Keep the Program Director and Dean of Nursing informed of clinical changes and updates
- Maintain clinical paperwork, compliance records, evaluations, and Board of Nursing documentation
- Track instructor credentialing, health requirements, and site-specific clearances
- Manage electronic clinical requirement tracking and communicate outdated records
- Collaborate on clinical agency evaluations for quality improvement and accreditation
- Ensure clinical records remain audit-ready for Board of Nursing and accreditation review
Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted compact (multistate) RN license, or eligibility to obtain one
- Master’s degree in nursing (required for accreditation purposes)
- 2+ years teaching clinicals in a nursing education program
- Experience training, onboarding, or mentoring clinical instructors or preceptors
- Current BLS/CPR certification (healthcare provider level)
- Ability to meet clinical site health and immunization requirements, including required vaccinations and background screening
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing schedules, documentation, and logistics across multiple sites
- A relationship-oriented approach with site staff, instructors, and students
- Remote work eligibility in the United States
