Job Description
Cloud Engineer III focused on API Gateway and cloud operations at Availity. Supporting developer portals and managing AWS workloads for healthcare engagement platform.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and manage API Gateway platforms (Tyk, DataPower, Kong, WSO2)
- Support developer portals and gateway integrations
- Configure VPCs, subnets, routing, and security groups in AWS
- Implement and maintain security policies such as OAuth, JWT, API keys
- Deploy and manage workloads on AWS (EC2, Lambda, API Gateway)
- Monitor and optimize cloud resources for performance and cost efficiency
- Assist in automating deployments and configurations using Terraform and scripting
- Monitor API traffic, troubleshoot issues, and implement alerting and logging
- Work closely with senior engineers, developers, and security teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience in cloud engineering roles
- Minimum of 2 years working in AWS environments
- Experience with API Gateway platforms: Tyk preferred, but experience with similar gateways will be considered
- Minimum 2 years of experience with AWS core services: EC2, VPC, API Gateway, IAM
- Strong understanding of networking concepts such as routing, DNS, load balancing, and firewall rules
- Basic experience with Terraform and scripting (Python/Bash)
- Familiarity with version control systems, specifically Git or GitLab
- Experience in regulated industries preferred
- Golang development experience or experience in other major languages (Java, C#, Python) preferred
