Job Description
Premier College Admissions Counselor delivering expert college admissions advising to US students and families. Guiding students through the admissions journey from planning to application submission.
Responsibilities:
- Guide students and families through all aspects of the college admissions process, including academic planning, extracurricular strategy, school selection, and application development
- Manage a caseload of 20–50 students per admissions cycle, ensuring strong outcomes and high client satisfaction
- Support onboarding, program management, and deadline tracking for assigned students and families
- Collaborate with CAC team members to ensure alignment and student success across programs
- Serve as a subject matter expert, contributing to admissions strategy, best practices, and counselor training standards
- Deliver training and professional development sessions for internal teams
- Meet with prospective families via video or phone to consult on program offerings and fit
- Create content (blogs, articles, webinars, videos) to support student success and brand awareness
- Participate in webinars, social media events, and other marketing initiatives
- Provide high-touch advising and support during complex or high-pressure situations
- Deliver institutional programming and training as needed
- Contribute to special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- You have a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred)
- You bring 8–10+ years of experience as a high school counselor, independent college counselor, and/or admissions officer
- You have direct experience working in admissions at a highly selective college or university
- You possess deep knowledge of the college admissions process and remain current on trends and best practices
- You have strong expertise in college essay development and editing
- You demonstrate excellent communication and public speaking skills
- You are highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills
- You are comfortable using web-based tools and virtual advising platforms
- You are a relationship-builder who creates trust and confidence with students and families
- You are flexible and collaborative, thriving in a team-oriented environment
- You are available to work evenings and weekends as needed, particularly during peak application season (August–December)
- You are willing to travel approximately 5–10%
