Job Description

Content Designer shaping UI language, terminology, and information architecture for Cisco’s security, observability, and platform software. Partnering across design, product, engineering, research, and marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Design clear, consistent UI text across labels, error messages, empty states, onboarding, tooltips, and other UI surfaces
  • Lead information architecture and navigation design for complex product areas
  • Define and maintain cross-product terminology
  • Partner with product management and product marketing to resolve naming conflicts and drive durable decisions
  • Develop content-led guidelines and reusable patterns
  • Create and maintain in-product guidance experiences such as walkthroughs and tours
  • Collaborate on design system standards for compliant, reusable content patterns
  • Partner with design and research on usability studies and card sorting
  • Support product designers with frameworks and AI-assisted tools
  • Collaborate with product design, product management, engineering, research, and marketing across security, observability, and platform products

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's plus 5 years of related experience, or Master's plus 3 years of related experience
  • Related experience includes content design and UX writing practice
  • Experience in content design, UX writing, or a closely related field within complex software products
  • Strong command of UI text craft
  • Ability to think structurally about information architecture, taxonomy, and navigation
  • Comfort working with Figma and design systems
  • Experience driving cross-functional alignment on terminology and naming decisions with product, marketing, and engineering stakeholders
  • Experience with Magnetic or similar enterprise design systems is a plus
