Job Description
Controller overseeing financial reporting and compliance for M2W, Inc. Managing accounting operations and enhancing processes to support business performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead core accounting activities, including general ledger, revenue accounting, cost tracking, and monthly close
- Maintain and enforce accounting policies in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Own the monthly and quarterly close process, including timelines, deliverables, and reviews
- Ensure balance sheet integrity through reconciliations and account analysis
- Deliver accurate and timely financial statements and management reporting
- Oversee revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Ensure accurate accounting for event costs, vendor expenses, staffing costs, and client billing
- Oversee cash management, liquidity planning, and banking relationships
- Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting
- Manage and develop the accounting team with clear goals and expectations
Requirements:
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles; experience in staffing, marketing, or service-based environments preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606; ERP experience (NetSuite or similar) preferred
- Proven ability to improve close processes, strengthen controls, and implement efficient accounting workflows
- Treats accounting as a business tool that drives performance and decision-making
- Able to clearly explain financial results to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Strong track record of working effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams
