Job Description
Financial Controller owning bookkeeping, reporting, forecasting, and controls for Paired, a global staffing and recruiting agency. Supporting profitability, payroll, and strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Own the monthly financial close and ensure accurate, timely financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Clean up and maintain the chart of accounts.
- Oversee external accountants, tax preparers, and bookkeeping support.
- Build financial reporting for contribution margins, marketing efficiency, payroll costs, cash runway, and profitability by offer and channel.
- Develop rolling cash forecasts, budgets, and financial models to support business decisions.
- Provide monthly written insights and actionable recommendations on profitability, spending, hiring, and growth investments.
- Identify and reduce unnecessary vendor and software expenses.
- Establish financial controls, payment approval processes, and documented workflows.
- Oversee contractor and international payroll processes across multiple countries.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of finance experience, including experience as a Controller, Finance Manager, or Head of Finance.
- Hands-on experience with US accounting and US-entity financials; Puerto Rico or multi-entity experience is a plus.
- Experience in a business where marketing spend is a major expense, ideally in e-commerce, DTC, SaaS, agencies, or digital products.
- Strong financial modeling, spreadsheet, and accounting software skills.
- Ability to translate financial data into clear insights and actionable business recommendations.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with strong EST time zone overlap.
- CPA, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
- Experience with international entities, outsourced finance teams, or fast-growing businesses.
- Spanish language skills.
