Job Description

Controls Design Modeller creating control system designs for mission-critical facilities. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams while focusing on Revit-based design.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and produce control system design drawings and models using Revit
  • Support the design of building automation and control systems for HVAC and related systems under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Assist with layout, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel designs for control systems
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and other disciplines to ensure integrated and consistent design delivery
  • Contribute to low-voltage system design efforts, including controls, fire alarm, and related systems as needed
  • Update and maintain project documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project standards
  • Support design reviews by incorporating feedback and making necessary revisions
  • Assist with the preparation of submittals, as-built drawings, and commissioning documentation
  • Follow internal QA/QC processes and applicable industry standards and codes

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, is preferred (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in controls design, building systems, or extra low-voltage systems
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit is required - not less than 1 year of constant using
  • Basic understanding of BAS/BMS systems, DDC controls, and integration with HVAC systems
  • Exposure to fire alarm and/or other low-voltage systems (security, communications) is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and support multiple projects simultaneously
