Job Description

Corporate Counsel supporting Rain’s AI financial health platform across employment law, litigation, and procurement contracts. Advising People, Procurement, Sales, and leadership teams on legal risk and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day employment-law advice to the People team, including human resources policies and processes
  • Lead the Company's response to potential employment-law claims
  • Provide legal advice on potential or threatened claims and civil actions involving the Company
  • Prepare risk assessments and settlement options for litigation matters
  • Advise the Procurement team on contracts proposed by service providers
  • Research applicable areas of law and analyze contracts and other legal instruments
  • Prepare written analyses for the Senior Counsel or General Counsel
  • Advise on and lead whistleblower-related investigations
  • Advise on and collaborate on revisions to internal policies and procedures
  • Administer and improve standard contracts for core operational areas
  • Support Sales teams with business-customer questions concerning standard contracts
  • Report directly to the General Counsel and work with the Senior Counsel

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited institution and admitted to state bar in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 or more years of experience at a major law firm or corporate legal department
  • Minimum of 2 or more years of experience with human resources and employment-law matters under federal and state employment laws
  • Experience in employment-law claims or litigation
  • Experience reviewing existing and new regulations and advising on compliance with employment-law requirements
  • Some experience in general commercial litigation
  • Some experience handling employment litigation, administrative issues, and arbitration of employment claims before AAA, JAMS, or other arbitration forums
  • Experience reviewing and revising contracts apart from employment-law matters
  • Sharp attention to detail and ability to explain facts, circumstances, and applicable law orally and in writing
  • Some experience counseling clients on whistleblower claims and managing related investigations, including reporting requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to organize multiple assignments across varying priorities
  • Independent, self-starter capable of developing solutions addressing near- and long-term company interests
