Job Description
Counseling Specialist supporting counseling administration, transcripts, scheduling, and college-career outreach. Serving students at South Carolina’s tuition-free virtual K–12 school from home.
Responsibilities:
- Work from home in the state of South Carolina
- Support counseling services activities and daily administrative tasks
- Assist with scheduling and transcript entry
- Support College and Career initiatives
- Answer Counseling Department phones and webmails
- Support Counseling Department projects and activities
- Input high school transcripts for new enrolling, dual enrolled, and summer school students
- Complete course scheduling for new enrolling high school students
- Enter data into the online student information system
- Generate reports and fulfill transcript requests
- Support College and Career efforts through student and family outreach
- Assist parents, students, and school staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Experience working with school age students
- Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to use a personal electronic device and email address for 2-step authentication
- School Counseling Master’s Degree preferred
- South Carolina High School Counseling experience
- Experience with Parchment and PowerSchool
- Knowledge of South Carolina Uniform Grading Policy and Activity Coding System
- Knowledge of South Carolina colleges and scholarships and NCAA
- Global Career Development Facilitator certification
