Job Description
Developer Advocate leading community engagement for Akuity's Argo CD and Kargo. Creating technical content, speaking at events, and driving developer trust and adoption.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on Argo CD and Kargo, staying closely aligned with open-source community discussions and the development roadmap.
- Create and deliver talks at conferences, webinars, and technical trainings, becoming a visible thought leader in the Argo/Kargo ecosystem.
- Actively engage with developers across channels: community forums, GitHub, meetups, and industry events.
- Produce high-impact technical content, including technical blog posts, tutorials, demos, and videos that resonates with DevOps practitioners and platform teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to surface developer feedback and influence product direction.
- Champion community growth by building relationships, responding to questions, and nurturing an inclusive, active user base.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact within the Argo CD community, helping drive awareness, education, and adoption of Akuity’s platform.
- Represent Akuity externally at conferences and DevOps events (quarterly travel ~20%).
Requirements:
- 3–5 years as a software developer, platform engineer, SRE, or DevOps engineer.
- 5–10 years total professional experience, ideally in B2B SaaS startups (Seed to Series C).
- Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and open-source ecosystems.
- Proven ability to engage technical audiences through events, webinars, or technical training.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for community building and developer advocacy.
- Experienced speaker with a track record of conference talks, technical trainings and webinars.
- Hands-on familiarity with Argo CD (can be learned in role).
- Experience with Kargo or similar deployment tools.
- Knowledge of CNCF, KubeCon and open-source community dynamics.
- Prior experience creating SDKs, sample code, or developer documentation.
