Job Description
DevOps Engineer focusing on automating processes and optimizing software deployments at SGS. Collaborating with development and IT teams to ensure reliable software delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable and automated build, test, and deployment processes
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and environment configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability
- Manage and optimise containerised environments
- Support and manage cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Monitor application performance and infrastructure health, proactively identifying and resolving performance, availability, and security issues
- Collaborate closely with development teams to improve deployment frequency, reduce lead time, and enhance system stability
- Integrate security best practices into development and deployment processes (DevSecOps approach)
- Contribute to defining standards, documentation, and best practices across development and operations
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis across applications, infrastructure, and environments
Requirements:
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a comparable role
- Strong experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Solid hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Strong knowledge of containerisation and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Bash, PowerShell)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Azure Monitor, Prometheus, ELK stack, or similar)
- Experience with workflow automation and job scheduling tools
- Advantageous: experience as a Microsoft .NET developer and familiarity with technologies such as Elasticsearch, Redis, Kafka, and API Management solutions
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Curious mindset and willingness to continuously learn and develop
- Fluency in English
