Job Description
Director of Communications leading the communications team at Venus Aerospace, revolutionizing rocket propulsion technology for aerospace applications.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute the company’s communications strategy aligned with top business priorities
- Lead proactive and reactive media engagement with relevant aerospace, defense, technology, and business press
- Oversee internal messaging to ensure alignment with external messaging
- Own and maintain a consistent brand and tone across all materials
- Develop and grow a talented brand and communications team
- Support investor communications around milestones, fundraising, and long-term vision
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a liberal arts field
- 10+ years of experience in communications, public affairs, or strategic messaging
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, particularly executive-level communications
- Demonstrated ability to operate with senior leadership in high-stakes environments
- Exceptional ability to plan and execute communications strategies, as well as build messaging and brand architecture to support them
- Background in aerospace, defense, national security, or deep tech
- Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to manage risk
- Mission-driven, collaborative, and selfless attitude
- Experience supporting a growth-stage (Series B–C or equivalent) technology company
