Job Description
Excel finance expert designing and evaluating financial-modeling tasks for Mercor’s frontier AI training initiatives. Applying advanced Excel expertise to improve next-generation language models.
Responsibilities:
- Guide research teams to close knowledge gaps and improve AI model performance on finance Excel tasks
- Design realistic, domain-relevant Excel tasks based on professional experience
- Write accurate, well-structured solutions
- Evaluate Excel tasks and solutions
- Provide clear, written feedback
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure consistency and accuracy in training data
Requirements:
- Advanced, professional-level Excel expertise
- Advanced formulas including XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and dynamic arrays
- PivotTables, financial modeling, dashboards, Power Query, Power Pivot, and macros/VBA
- Hands-on professional finance experience in private equity, investment banking, hedge funds, equity research, accounting, or FP&A
- Experience with three-statement models, LBO/DCF and valuation, and forecasting
- Demonstrable career progression
- Ability to engage reliably for 40 hours/week on weekdays through the end of September, then 20 hours/week thereafter
- Verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- United States-based only
- Must not require H1-B or STEM OPT sponsorship
