Job Description

Fire Alarm Designer responsible for project design progression in fire alarm systems. Working with teams for design, permits, and code compliance in Ahern's remote role.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing project design progression from inception to completion including design, permits, as-builts, and operations and maintenance manuals
  • Develop a comprehensive design plan to meet schedules and budgets
  • Participate in team and on-site progress meetings
  • Understand and follow all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications while ensuring AHJ requirements and procedures are followed
  • Multi-task and prioritize among assignments with strong adherence to deadlines in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the design of fire alarms or low-voltage systems
  • Previous experience working in Revit and AutoCAD is required
  • Prior large project design experience, specifically in data centers is preferred
  • NICET Certification preferred
  • Experience with Navisworks, Revizto, or other BIM tools is preferred
