Job Description
Full time faculty position for Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology at UMass Global. Engaging in online teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development in a remote environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, assess, and teach online synchronous courses within the Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling programs, ensuring alignment with program outcomes and accreditation standards.
- Mentor and support students, adjunct faculty, staff, and other program stakeholders to promote student success and program quality.
- Participate in service to the discipline, profession, and institution, including committee work and community engagement, both internally and externally.
- Demonstrate professional and collegial conduct that fosters mutual respect, trust, transparent communication, and appropriate confidentiality with faculty, staff, and university leadership.
- Contribute to ongoing program development, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned in collaboration with the Dean, consistent with faculty role expectations outlined in the Faculty Manual.
Requirements:
- Earned Doctorate (PhD or DMFT in Marriage & Family Therapy, Ph.D. or PSY.D., in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy), or a related discipline from an accredited institution; ABD candidates may be considered with degree completion by start date.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
- Minimum of two (2) years of post-professional practice experience in mental health or related practice setting.
- Experience teaching in higher education, preferably in online asynchronous modalities.
- Involvement in related professional and academic associations.
- Experience supporting program accreditation or regulatory alignment (e.g., COAMFTE, regional accreditation, or state licensure board requirements, as applicable).
- Evidence of scholarly, professional, or community engagement activities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, support, and train adjuncts in an online environment.
- Commitment to student-centered teaching and supporting a diverse adult learner population.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and delivering current, market-relevant, and engaging curriculum, assessments, and learning activities in an online-first LMS.
- Experience applying data-informed approaches to enhance student success and retention.
- Ability to engage collegially and collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and professionals across disciplines.
