Job Description

Field Application Engineer advancing Owens Corning roofing, insulation, and doors innovations through field trials. Validating building performance, guiding commercialization, and training commercial teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver product innovation initiatives and aid research and ideation for new innovation opportunities
  • Facilitate innovation field trials from MVP to full solution and through early commercialization
  • Gather learnings and feedback from trial participants to influence innovation development decisions
  • Define technical success for early markets
  • Provide technical consulting and participate in building sensing for data acquisition and building science durability evaluations
  • Work with cross-functional product development teams to test and validate new innovations
  • Assist with standard or revised ASTM tests
  • Install data acquisition devices and temperature, humidity, and moisture sensors
  • Evaluate validation-test data and provide insights on risk, durability, efficacy, and performance
  • Lead technical execution and project management of early-stage MVP field trials
  • Develop, execute, and lead project plans with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop technical field application and installation guides
  • Train Owens Corning commercial teams on solution value, best practices, and scaling within target geographies
  • Drive technical success of early-market trials with target customers
  • Overcome subcontractor and construction-process hurdles
  • Evaluate data and customer/builder feedback to identify preferred product solutions, trends, and product gaps

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to travel 50-70% of the time
  • Located in reasonable proximity to a major airport
  • 3+ years in building industry
  • 2+ years with applied Building Science field experience (moisture, durability) preferred
  • HVAC system knowledge preferred
  • Structural engineering knowledge preferred
  • Project Management experience working with internal & external stakeholders
  • Data Analytics skills
  • Knowledge of residential and commercial construction processes
  • Hands-on capabilities to train on installation best practices
