Job Description
Field Application Engineer advancing Owens Corning roofing, insulation, and doors innovations through field trials. Validating building performance, guiding commercialization, and training commercial teams.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver product innovation initiatives and aid research and ideation for new innovation opportunities
- Facilitate innovation field trials from MVP to full solution and through early commercialization
- Gather learnings and feedback from trial participants to influence innovation development decisions
- Define technical success for early markets
- Provide technical consulting and participate in building sensing for data acquisition and building science durability evaluations
- Work with cross-functional product development teams to test and validate new innovations
- Assist with standard or revised ASTM tests
- Install data acquisition devices and temperature, humidity, and moisture sensors
- Evaluate validation-test data and provide insights on risk, durability, efficacy, and performance
- Lead technical execution and project management of early-stage MVP field trials
- Develop, execute, and lead project plans with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop technical field application and installation guides
- Train Owens Corning commercial teams on solution value, best practices, and scaling within target geographies
- Drive technical success of early-market trials with target customers
- Overcome subcontractor and construction-process hurdles
- Evaluate data and customer/builder feedback to identify preferred product solutions, trends, and product gaps
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability to travel 50-70% of the time
- Located in reasonable proximity to a major airport
- 3+ years in building industry
- 2+ years with applied Building Science field experience (moisture, durability) preferred
- HVAC system knowledge preferred
- Structural engineering knowledge preferred
- Project Management experience working with internal & external stakeholders
- Data Analytics skills
- Knowledge of residential and commercial construction processes
- Hands-on capabilities to train on installation best practices
