Job Description
Field Service Technician installing, repairing, and training customers on Amada metal-fabrication machinery. Supporting Punch Presses, Press Brakes, Shears, and automated systems across Southern California.
Responsibilities:
- Support customers with Amada Punch Presses, including installation, service, operational training, networking, programming training, software training, application training, and punching automation training
- Perform similar service, installation, training, and support functions for Press Brakes, Shears, other general fabricating machines, and automated material loading/unloading machines
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical, electrical, control, and network systems
- Follow layout drawings, blueprints, and mechanical and electrical drawings during equipment installation and service
- Complete daily service/status reports and weekly expense reports
- Manage the total equipment installation process at customer sites using hand tools and performing climbing, bending, and stooping
- Provide operation, applications, software, part programming, and customer training
- Use Amada applications software for line control and part programming
- Travel routinely within the Buena Park/Los Angeles, CA territory and surrounding cities, with occasional overnight stays
- Report to the Regional Service Manager
Requirements:
- Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems, and networks
- Able to precisely follow layout drawings and blueprints used in equipment installation
- Ability to communicate in the English language
- Excellent customer relations and follow through
- Operation, applications, software, and part programming capabilities
- Ability to use Amada applications software used in line control and part programming
- Regular travel within assigned territories
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical, and electrical systems
- Ability to use hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter, and oscilloscope
- Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
- Routine travel within assigned territories with occasional overnight stays
- A 4 yr degree in Electronics or a minimum of a 2 yr degree with related work experience preferred
