Job Description
Field Solutions Engineer designing data center, cloud, security, and infrastructure solutions for SHI’s public-sector customers. Advising clients and enabling sales teams across Arizona and New Mexico.
Responsibilities:
- Work with large customers and engage in face-to-face meetings in the SLED space
- Uncover and develop opportunities by building strong customer relationships alongside sales teams
- Consult on data center, edge, core, cloud, security, collaboration, and services technologies
- Collaborate with account teams to evaluate customer data center environments and infrastructure technologies
- Design and propose tailored infrastructure solutions aligned with customer business objectives
- Build and maintain technical relationships with OEMs and strategic partners
- Provide product training and technical education to sales teams and customers
- Act as a trusted IT advisor for customers in partnership with Field Account Executives
- Manage the solution practice pipeline by developing strategies for top prospects and acquiring new business
- Identify technology opportunities across Data Center, Cloud, Network, Security, Collaboration, and Services
- Develop solutions that fit customer needs and budgets through strategic planning
- Engage CIOs, IT Directors, CTOs, and other client contacts for comprehensive account management
- Educate and develop sales teams on technical selling, product training, services, and technology trends
Requirements:
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience required
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience working in complex Data Center sales opportunities
- Ability to design data center infrastructures including hybrid cloud, hyper converged, software-defined data center, infrastructure/platform as a service, automation, containerization, and Data Center Management Platforms
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, hypervisors, server virtualization, Software Defined Data Center, containerization, and automation
- Ability to communicate and sell complex technical products or services by understanding customer needs, articulating value propositions, and providing technical expertise
- Expertise in Dell Technologies, NetApp, HPE, Cisco, Pure Storage, Azure, AWS, Veeam, and Nutanix
- Experience with Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and High Availability Solutions
- Residence in the state of Arizona required
- Ability to travel to SHI, Partner, and Customer Events
- Advanced certification in one or more mainstream technologies preferred
