Job Description
LF160 Field Supervisor leading safe, efficient diamond drilling operations for DDH1’s mining exploration services. Supervising crews, client coordination, training, and production at remote FIFO mine sites.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate between several company departments, client representatives, and geologists
- Use extensive drilling knowledge and qualifications to assist with drilling practices
- Ensure maximum production and core recovery safely
- Exercise duty of care for personal work activities and personnel under control
- Ensure personnel comply with HSE regulations, site-specific rules, and applicable regulations
- Assist Drillers in training Trainee Drillers and Drillers Offsiders in safe procedures and equipment care
- Understand drilling program terms and liaise with clients for successful completion
- Apply sound management practices and techniques within competence
- Provide direction, leadership, management, and support for drilling and maintenance
- Promote the company’s business
- Maintain high standards of presentation, behaviour, and conduct for field crews
Requirements:
- 7–10 years’ experience in Diamond Drilling
- Iron Ore experience required
- Previous experience with LF 160 drill rigs and Freedom rod loaders
- Cert IV in Drilling Operations
- Current Heavy Rigid Driver’s licence (MC licence highly regarded)
- Current National Police clearance
- Fatigue Management training
- ICAM or equivalent WHS incident investigation training
- Current Senior First Aid certificate or equivalent
- Schedule 26 qualifications
- Willingness to travel to remote project sites
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Sound knowledge of the Mines Safety Act and Regulations and WHS Act
- Physically fit
- Prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions
