Job Description

Financial and Underwriting Consultant leading insurance pricing, actuarial analysis, and client projects. Managing underwriting teams, carrier data, renewal calculations, and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute advanced pricing and analysis requests
  • Lead development and management of assigned underwriting and analyst teams
  • Act as subject matter expert in underwriting, special pricing, and marketing projects
  • Meet with clients and Financial & Underwriting teams to define and accomplish projects
  • Assist in determining team strategic goals, resource planning, education/training needs, policy development, and business growth
  • Manage relationships with insurance carriers, external consultants, third-party administrators, and vendors
  • Analyze actuarial plan values using relevant software for pricing and analysis
  • Modify and customize underwriting models and reporting templates to meet customer needs
  • Lead client underwriting projects and present analyses to clients
  • Assist Producers with prospecting activities, RFP responses, finalist presentations, and follow-up
  • Maintain data tracking and reporting for financial management, underwriting models, client reports, and analytical deliverables
  • Obtain claim data through carrier data and reporting systems
  • Analyze and challenge insurance company renewal calculations for fully insured Health, Dental, and Vision contracts
  • Engage in education on underwriting knowledge, market trends, and regulatory developments
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, timeline management, and deadline completion
  • Address and respond to correspondence
  • Lead training development and execution on underwriting and analysis topics
  • Mentor Financial & Underwriting team members
  • Maintain complete and accurate agency management system data

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Eight (8) or more years of related work experience
  • One (1) or more years of management experience leading a team of at least 3 individuals
  • Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal
  • Valid Insurance License within 90 Days
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills
  • Good customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work within a team and foster teamwork
  • Ability to completely manage mid-level and large projects and lead assigned teams to complete goals
  • Ability to work productively as an individual
  • Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and deadlines
