Job Description
Head of Bioprocessing driving biopharma sales, strategic partnerships, and customer solutions for Avantor in Japan. Leading distributors, key accounts, and cross-functional teams supporting life sciences growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute business development strategies
- Serve as primary contact for strategic alliances and key partners
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to align deals with business goals
- Mentor less experienced team members
- Identify and address customers’ unique application needs
- Develop new business and increase sales volumes from existing and potential customers
- Collaborate with functional teams and application specialists on sales opportunities
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for external customers and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to the technical positioning of Avantor products in customer processes
- Influence and guide the commercial team
- Improve the quality and competitiveness of service offerings
- Monitor industry trends and share findings
- Support local and global sales processes, including key account management and ordering
- Manage local distributors by setting financial targets and initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor/Master’s degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biopharmaceutical Engineering)
- 10 to 12 years of industry sales/commercial experience in the life sciences or biopharma industry
- Experience working with external customers within the Biotech, Biologicals, Life Sciences, and/or Biopharmaceutical industries
- Experience developing and managing sales channels and key accounts
- Track record of achieving business targets, including revenue growth and gross margin
- Internal stakeholder management skills
- Strategic thinking and business development knowledge
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to collaborate productively as a team member
- Ability to partner with applications teams, product managers, and R&D scientists
