Job Description

HPC Development Engineer designing and supporting CIQ’s enterprise Linux, cloud, and HPC infrastructure. Developing Go-based solutions, improving system performance, and guiding architecture and deployments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support enterprise solutions, products, and infrastructure for CIQ.
  • Maintain systems’ capacity and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and improve applications and processes.
  • Analyze current code and industry developments to design engineering solutions.
  • Lead and participate in architecture-level discussions, planning, and implementation.
  • Research optimal technical approaches.
  • Document projects to share knowledge and facilitate user integration.
  • Drive proofs of concept and minimal viable products for demonstrations.
  • Support services before launch through system design consulting, software platform and framework development, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Sales, and open-source communities on relevant solutions while sharing knowledge.
  • Design and guide solutions for ambiguous requirements.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of Linux and cloud infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience with GoLang, Pulumi, Kubernetes, and other engineering tools/technologies.
  • Ability to pivot to new challenges in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Expertise in deriving solutions from high-level or incomplete requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Flexibility to support an on-call rotation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
  • At least 10 years of experience writing software in Go, Python, Scala, etc.
  • Demonstrated mastery of Linux and cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • High-performance or scientific computing experience is a plus.
