Job Description

HVAC controls analyst optimizing building systems and commissioning energy projects for ENFRA. Developing tests, troubleshooting automation programming, and verifying energy conservation measures.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, verify, and optimize new and existing building systems on-site or remotely
  • Plan, document, and conduct work using Company and energy management industry best practices
  • Produce optimized energy and project outcomes for retro-commissioning and relevant new construction commissioning scopes
  • Collaborate with construction management, facilities management, engineers, and trade partners
  • Document, communicate, and develop solutions for technical issues with the project delivery team and Team Manager
  • Complete assigned tasks and deliverables in a timely manner
  • Participate in site surveys, documentation reviews, and due diligence activities
  • Participate in design and submittal reviews for new construction commissioning
  • Use CxAlloy to document commissioning scopes
  • Develop pre-functional checklists and functional performance tests in CxAlloy
  • Develop technical reports and project observations
  • Implement energy conservation measures independently or with project delivery partners
  • Review pre-functional checklists against actual site conditions
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and modify building system programming
  • Use test instrumentation to troubleshoot, verify, and optimize building system operation
  • Oversee and execute functional performance tests for construction scope acceptance
  • Ensure energy conservation measures and building system programming are documented, understood, and archived
  • Monitor energy performance and help ensure performance targets are met and maintained
  • Identify, communicate, track, and address issues
  • Assist with issue resolution and propose project solutions
  • Escalate impediments to project outcomes and scope completion
  • Adhere to IS Delivery and IS Technical Services process guidelines and SOPs
  • Uphold the company’s organizational core values
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field
  • 1-3 years of commissioning or related field experience with mechanical, electrical, building automation systems, programming, or building operation management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to safety
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work with minimal or limited information
  • Self directed or able to work with limited direction
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Competency with cloud-based commissioning software platforms
  • Engineering Intern (EI) certification preferred
  • Associate Commissioning Certification from ACG, BCxA, or ASHRAE preferred
  • AEE Energy Manager in Training (EMIT) preferred
  • Building automation systems design and programming experience preferred
  • Ability to travel 40-60% of the time to job sites/office locations
  • Ability to perform required physical activities, including climbing stairs, ascending and descending ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
  • Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 20 pounds
