Job Description
US IPOs Analyst covering IPOs and direct listings for Smartkarma’s institutional investment research platform. Delivering valuation research, trading insights, and high-touch client intelligence.
Responsibilities:
- Build ongoing research coverage of all US IPOs and direct listings with an expected deal size of USD100mn or higher, excluding closed-end funds and SPACs
- Apply a data-driven methodology to score and rank deals
- Produce pre-IPO company tearsheets
- Conduct pre-IPO fundamental research
- Provide pre-IPO valuation and pricing insights
- Prepare post-IPO trading summaries
- Prepare post-IPO lock-up expiry previews
- Offer high-touch service for select institutional clients within the first six months
- Provide pre-deal pre-positioning, market intelligence, positioning and book color
- Prepare management meeting questions and Excel models
- Produce bespoke notes for pre-IPO or cornerstone stakes under NDA
- Provide post-deal lock-up expiry trade insights
- Provide desk access through email, messaging, and direct calls
Requirements:
- Extensive research and/or investment experience for institutional clients (5 yrs+)
- Demonstrated experience and network within US equity capital markets
- Demonstrated ability to write research
- Senior analyst or analyst team capability
