Job Description

Information Security Specialist strengthening SafeRide's cybersecurity program. Collaborating with IT, Product Engineering, and Security Operations to protect sensitive healthcare data.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and continuously improve SafeRide Health’s operational security posture across systems, networks, and data.
  • Conduct scheduled continuous monitoring activities, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual security audits and reporting.
  • Configure, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain security platforms and tooling across the organization.
  • Administer, configure, and maintain Cisco Security Cloud and related security technologies.
  • Support and enhance the Information Security Management Framework, including policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support efforts to obtain and maintain HITRUST certification.
  • Prepare and maintain security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports, and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
  • Assist the Security Operations Center by reviewing alerts, triaging events, and escalating security incidents as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and governance committees to ensure consistent application of security policies and standards across all technology projects and services.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree with 2+ years of relevant information security or cybersecurity experience, or equivalent additional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Working understanding of defense-in-depth security principles and common security controls used for threat detection, analysis, and mitigation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the cybersecurity field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and willing to support operational security needs as required.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of networking concepts, including common ports, protocols, traffic flow, and the OSI model.
  • Current active security certification, such as CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CISSP, or ISACA CISA.
  • Experience supporting healthcare, regulated, or compliance-driven environments.
  • Familiarity with HITRUST, SOC 2, or similar security frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience supporting or interacting with a Security Operations Center (SOC).
  • Experience administering cloud-based security platforms.
