Job Description

Claims Specialist managing patient account balances ensuring compliance with billing regulations while providing customer support and addressing issues for financial sustainability within healthcare settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing patient account balances including accurate claim submission
  • Compliance with federal/state and third party billing regulations
  • Timely follow-up, and assistance with denial management
  • Excellent customer service and issue resolution
  • Completing reports and clerical duties as needed
  • Organizing and executing daily tasks for optimal productivity
  • Complying with HIPAA regulations pertaining to PHI and claim submission/follow-up
  • Participating in performance improvement initiatives as requested

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year medical billing/medical office experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Knowledge of business math preferred
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding processes preferred
  • Ability to understand written and oral communication.
