Job Description
Claims Specialist managing patient account balances ensuring compliance with billing regulations while providing customer support and addressing issues for financial sustainability within healthcare settings.
Responsibilities:
- Managing patient account balances including accurate claim submission
- Compliance with federal/state and third party billing regulations
- Timely follow-up, and assistance with denial management
- Excellent customer service and issue resolution
- Completing reports and clerical duties as needed
- Organizing and executing daily tasks for optimal productivity
- Complying with HIPAA regulations pertaining to PHI and claim submission/follow-up
- Participating in performance improvement initiatives as requested
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year medical billing/medical office experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of computers
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Knowledge of business math preferred
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding processes preferred
- Ability to understand written and oral communication.
