Job Description
Landscape Developer advancing Commonland’s nonprofit landscape-restoration network across the UK and Ireland. Building partnerships, fundraising strategies, and nature-finance mechanisms for regenerative change.
Responsibilities:
- Support landscape partners across the UK and Ireland with direct strategic support
- Connect with system-level actors, including companies, funders, government bodies, foundations, and knowledge institutions
- Secure funding and financing mechanisms, including Ireland’s incoming nature restoration law funding
- Engage with the UK nature finance and funding landscape
- Matchmake between finance providers and landscape partners
- Co-design innovative responses to systemic barriers and opportunities for holistic landscape restoration
- Co-develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy
- Identify and map UK, Irish, and European public and private funding opportunities
- Support systemic innovations such as bioregional finance, payment for ecosystem services, and learning networks
- Organise learning sessions to build partners’ fundraising and facilitation capacity
- Collaborate with Commonland’s global learning community
- Share insights and ensure strategic alignment with the European landscape restoration community
- Travel regularly within the UK and Ireland, with occasional international travel
Requirements:
- Several years’ experience in partnership development, landscape restoration and/or fundraising with a track record in the UK/Ireland
- Solid understanding of the UK/Ireland’s environmental, agricultural, rural, or sustainable development sectors
- Strong nature finance and funding literacy
- Understanding of funding and market-based finance mechanisms
- Interest in regenerative, new economy, and bioregional approaches
- Fluency in English
- Additional bioregional languages such as Welsh or Irish are a plus
- Broad network of stakeholders working in landscape restoration in the UK/Ireland
- Availability for 32–40 hours per week
- Eligibility to work in the UK or Ireland
- Willingness to travel regularly within the UK and Ireland and occasionally internationally
