Job Description

Lead Back-End Engineer managing data layer architecture for web applications. Specializing in scalable Sanity.io implementations and core infrastructure development in a remote capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the back-end architecture, hosting approach, and overall development strategy for complex web applications.
  • Lead CMS implementations and migrations, including content modeling and ETL process design.
  • Design and maintain scalable REST and GraphQL services to support modern front-end experiences.
  • Partner with DevOps teams to support infrastructure, environments, CI/CD pipelines, and hosting platforms.
  • Own the server-side architecture, ensuring secure, high-performing, and scalable data delivery.

Requirements:

  • Strong back-end engineering experience with technologies such as Node.js, Deno, or Bun, along with a solid foundation in TypeScript.
  • Deep knowledge of Sanity.io and experience working with composable CMS platforms and content architecture.
  • Strong understanding of full-stack application design, especially the interaction between back-end systems and React/Next.js front-ends.
  • Experience with testing, automation, performance optimization, and security best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
