Job Description
Senior Full Stack Engineer building scalable digital services for U.S. government agencies. Developing cloud-based applications, APIs, and integrations while mentoring engineers and improving delivery practices.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an experienced individual contributor within a team while developing leadership, guidance, and mentoring skills
- Support scope, schedule, and delivery requirements with minimal leadership oversight
- Contribute to the program's development strategy and long-term goals
- Serve as the discipline's primary lead when working with stakeholders
- Drive improvements in software engineering processes and practices
- Own and contribute to an application code base
- Coordinate integration with adjacent technical systems and ecosystems
- Diagnose and resolve system issues and use incidents to inform system improvements
- Mentor and assist junior engineers
- Communicate technical issues and developments with team members and clients
- Participate in technical interviews
- Propose and evaluate approaches to technical and process problems
- Lead small, less critical, or temporary team structures and projects
- Present design documents and system diagrams to clients, stakeholders, partners, and engineers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience developing systems and applications for Federal clients
- Experience with enterprise-level, high-availability application development
- Use of object-oriented design (OOD) patterns for separation of concerns, code reusability, security, and performance
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React.js, Angular, and Node.js
- Experience developing clean, well-architected code
- Experience with cloud computing, including Cloud Foundry, Azure, or AWS
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment, such as Jenkins
- Source Control Management experience, preferably Git/GitHub
- Strong database skills, preferably Oracle or SQL Server
- Experience with SQL or similar query language and data constructs such as XML and JSON
- Experience developing or consuming Web Services, including REST, SOAP, and JSON
- Experience with ETL jobs and APIs, including service-oriented architectures
- Strong understanding of functional, SOA, and performance testing methodologies
- Prior government contracting experience preferred
