Job Description
Backend Engineer building scalable APIs and banking services for Qonto’s finance workspace serving SMEs. Designing robust applications and collaborating across product engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, deploy and maintain new and existing applications
- Produce and ship high-quality, well-documented code
- Co-own services architecture, resilience, scalability and robustness using Domain-Driven Design principles
- Contribute to technical leadership and mentorship of other engineers
- Shape Qonto’s finance solutions in cross-functional teams
- Participate in the direction of the banking product
- Manage the handling of growing user-base needs
- Own product scope within a cross-functional team
- Collaborate with mobile, frontend, and product manager teams to deliver impactful solutions
Requirements:
- Solid software engineering experience working on user-facing products
- Exposure to architectural patterns of large, high-scale web applications
- Pragmatic and product-driven approach to problem solving
- Best practices in code quality, testing, and code reviews
- Curiosity and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills and ability to work with non-technical colleagues
- Fluent in English
- Backend experience with Go and/or Ruby
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, AWS, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and ELK
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team
