Job Description
Lead software engineer building ThriveCart’s AI-powered ecommerce conversion editor. Guiding Editor 2.0 delivery, production health, and AI features that improve merchant conversions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical direction for the ecommerce editor, including AI generation, layout suggestions, content assistance, and personalization
- Own the Editor 2.0 team's sprint output, unblocking, code review quality, and critical-path implementation
- Plan sprints, break down tasks, and prioritize work
- Unblock engineers on technical blockers, ambiguous requirements, and cross-team dependencies
- Make technical decisions and maintain code review standards
- Serve as the primary escalation point for production incidents and editor production health
- Ramp and mentor team members, including their AI tool usage
- Propose and build AI-powered product features for visual page and funnel building
- Evaluate AI features based on real workflows and conversion impact
- Write unit and integration tests
- Identify edge cases and risks during planning
- Use AI coding tools daily and establish effective AI-assisted development workflows
- Collaborate directly with the product manager on roadmap and feature definition
- Ship meaningful features to production and measure conversion impact
Requirements:
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
- At least 1–2 years in a lead or de facto lead capacity
- Owned technical direction for a team, not just senior individual-contributor work
- Hands-on experience in PHY
- Hands-on experience building consumer-facing web products at scale
- Experience with page builders, website/funnel editors, or similarly complex WYSIWYG/visual editing tools strongly preferred
- Demonstrated track record shipping AI-powered product features
- Experience working directly with a product manager on roadmap and feature definition
- Comfortable being the primary escalation point for production issues
- TypeScript and Node.js experience
- PHP 7.4/8+ and Laravel experience
- MariaDB, Redis, AWS (EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, SQS, S3), Docker, and GitHub Actions CI/CD experience
