Job Description
Legal Engineer at LawVu transforming legal industry with AI-driven insights for in-house teams. Collaborating with Product to optimize legal workflows and enhance AI capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with Product and Design to identify high value opportunities and use cases to save in-house legal time and effort through AI assisted workflows and AI driven insights.
- Translate legal reasoning and subject matter expertise into structured product requirements and prompts.
- Partner with engineering to design, test and improve AI extraction schemas, normalisation models and workflows.
- Partner with engineering to define frameworks that evaluate legal accuracy and risk in model outputs.
- Continuously improve legal accuracy through prompt tuning.
Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer with 5+ years commercial contract experience (ideally in house)
- Deep understanding of contract obligations and risk
- Experience completing contract analysis at scale
- Deep systems thinker
- Curious about AI, and willing to work closely with product AI systems.
- Prior experience with prompt engineering, data modelling or evaluation frameworks is a bonus.
- Familiarity with the legal tech landscape, and contract lifecycle management
- Excellent ability to distil legal nuance and complex concepts into plain language and actionable recommendations.
- Bias for pragmatism and progress over perfection and a willingness to experiment and learn fast
- Experience with legal tech, CLM systems or AI assisted contract analysis
- Willing to work in a dynamic fast-paced, scale-up environment.
