Job Description
Remote Licensed Professional Counselor providing therapy through Adjuvant’s oncology behavioral health services. Supporting cancer patients, families, and caregivers with treatment planning and counseling.
Responsibilities:
- Accept referrals and maintain a client load of minimum 18 hours per week
- Counsel clients or patients individually and/or within family sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes
- Make internal referrals to IOP if little to no improvement occurs within 8 weeks of OP therapy
- Guide clients in developing skills or strategies for dealing with their problems
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge, establishing SMART goals with the patient
- Develop treatment plans 72 hours after intake and update or modify them every 4 weeks
- Fill out and maintain client-related paperwork, including diagnostic records and progress notes
- Develop progress notes within 48 hours after every session
- Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports
- Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition based on review of client information
- Collaborate with staff members to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans within 2 days of establishing care with an existing patient
- Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or specialists as necessary
- Learn about new developments in counseling through professional literature, courses, seminars, or contact with other social service agencies
Requirements:
- Masters Degree from an accredited college or university
- Two years of professional level experience in a counselor setting
- Current and active Licensed Professional Counselor license in West Virginia is required
- 2+ years experience in healthcare with oncology
- 1 year experience in Telehealth Settings
