Job Description
Freelance Icelandic linguist delivering UK English-to-Icelandic transcreation for OLIVER’s apparel and clothing client. Preserving brand voice while creating compelling marketing copy.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver transcreations from UK English to Icelandic Iceland, preserving the intended message, voice, and tone
- Ensure target copy is fluent, aligned with the brand’s personality, and stylistically compelling
- Write creative and compelling copy for selected deliverables
- Translate marketing copy while maintaining brand voice and messaging
- Translate complex technical language into easy-to-understand copy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide constructive feedback
Requirements:
- Native-speaker level knowledge of Icelandic (Iceland)
- Excellent creative writing skills and ability to adapt writing styles and tone for different target audiences
- Experience with translating marketing copy while maintaining brand voice and messaging
- Knowledge of technical writing principles and ability to translate complex technical language into easy-to-understand copy
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide constructive feedback
